What do we do with a text which contains a lot of errata and editorial corrections?  All those subtle changes and variations are really difficult to be put on paper, but with the help of the Digital Humanities approach a virtual text, hypertext can be created, that will greatly improve the level of academic editing and at the same time make the result easily accessible to the large public. Digital Humanities seem to be here an irreplaceable tool for research.

My project focuses on the dissemination of scientific news in the digital environment; the project goal is monitoring of cases of diffusion of scientific news in a digital ecosistem (including social networks). Research will include review of position of practicing bloggers and journalists, as publically expressed (for example stated in interviews and texts of personal authorship; statements of popularizers of science, such as Asya Kazanceva, who wrote the book “Somebody is Wrong on the Internet”).

My project is aimed at reconsidering the Courses of “Rhetoric” and of “Russian Language and Culture of Speech” in media-educational perspective and to organize a learning community on online-platforms.The course “Rhetoric” for non-specialists imposes requirements that force to regard the rhetoric not as a main object of students’ attention, but as a subject that should be popularized among non-specialists.The main goal of the project – to make students become media literate, to develop their critical thinking abilities, to make them analyze and create a hypertext.In media-educational perspective the project is supposed to promote a development of media skills and media literacy by means of working with media-texts and other media-content, to encourage students to create their own media-texts in variety of genres, forms and types in online community and in opened media-space.

Since many students tend to perceive reading as a chore and watching as an entertainment, their belief can be turned into a technique of “reverse close reading”, which means, for example, turning from the screen of a film adaptation back to the page of the original book. The narrative language of film correlates to the language of book and can gain literal and figurative meanings in both contexts.Some narrative elements can become more explicit in multimedia texts, others in verbal texts, so this juxtaposition can be most enriching and stimulating. Besides classical narrative elements, media literacy implies appreciating sounds and shapes as narrative devices and overall evaluating a different aesthetic of various media. The critical thinking involved in media analysis is relevant for all English majors, whether they pursue teaching, translation or media related careers.

Modern society is in dire need for a popular, but  scientific, not pseudoscientific knowledge. One of the ways to realize this mission is the creation of popular science magazine on the base of one of the largest universities of Russia.The magazine should have fully illustrated articles, real scientific, but fun and well written on all topics of science, including Humanities.
A distinctive feature of the magazine should be that its authors are lectors and researchers of Kazan Federal University and universities around the world that have cooperation agreements with the University.
A wide popularization of works of scientists of Kazan Federal University will increase its European and global popularity, and thus attract our scientists to participate in international events and to publish their work in indexed journals.

The elements of academic research are neither reckoned in the educational programs nor taken in any scientometric or research systems. We are dealing with a unified problem — the adaptation of academic knowledge for the educational environment. The purpose of the project is the study of possibilities of academic projects in the educational university structures and the use of critical methods in mass educational projects.

Modern Myths (techno myths, political myths, ideological myths, etc.) and archaic myths are essentially the same, they are based on the same mechanisms of thinking. In fact, the basis of the myth is the fundamental mechanisms of thinking (which was described, for example, by Descartes and Bacon), which are found in the scientific, religious and other ways of the world perception, so the myth can be in any field of knowledge, especially in science, modern science is very complicated for the mass mind, so it is easy to mythologize.

Modern styles of communication produce new styles of philosophical discussion.In fact, all discussion seems to be a hypertext. There are no actors, there are just personages. And informal language is used.In this case, it could be explained by referring to simple mind and  low level of philosophical culture. But there are many citations from classical and modern texts of professional philosophers. It looks strange.But may be it is just an irony. Irony is saying or depicting one thing, but meaning its opposite. Now we have a lot of examples of brilliant ironical texts being produced by postmodern. In Net-style of argumentation it is difficult to decide whether this is meant literally or ironically. The context looks seriously, it is impossible to see any sign of irony in the texts. It could be new type of irony, which is not only technique or mode.

The main sphere of my interests is the contemporary  theatre. A theatre is seen as the model of the public sphere, and we can notice the new utopia of the social, open and immersive theatre as the place of meeting of the town and a person. This is a part of a new paradigm of postdramatic and performative theatre where the mimesis has no more rights, and the spectators assist to an event right «here and now», where the event itself is no more limited to a production of a play, but where the co-presence of the public is felt as the inherent component. The talks with the directors and actors after the performances, the academic lectures are meant to help read and perceive critically the contemporary theatre as the complex social practice. Nevertheless, there is some lack of the critical reflexion about these activities. Do they lead to something else besides a promotion of a theatre company or a contemporary theatre style? Do they really produce a new knowledge? What form answers the best to a dialogue with the public?

For previous ten years I’ve made some popular scientific projects in social media. For example our public «Ethnology project» is still one of the biggest (http://vk.com/ethnoproject -12,5 thousands subscribers).

Also we’ve made special smm-projects for professional and semi-professional that are still very popular (Laboratory for museum projecting https://www.facebook.com/groups/365777860202811/ — 5, 5 thousands subscribers). But now in time of total commercialization of social media was has to change our methods. I try to do it at my new space “Museum audit” but I see that I should find some new formats.

All these problems are actual for me in the museum sphere. I see that scientific foundation in Russian museum today is not adequate to its goals so maybe we can find some new ways to show scientific knowledge (especially humanitarian) in the museum space.

The main difficulty that I faced while working with the general audience was to overcome stereotypes about what «the real art” have to look like. It stroked me the most how external aesthetic norms shaped certain visual and mental optics of public lectures participants. This optics often totally excluded contemporary art practices from the field of «real art”. I have to admit that my attempts to debunk the aesthetic stereotypes have not always been successful. Moreover, the participants of public lectures and training courses were even not aware of the very existence of the optical matrix defining their perception. So how can we teach contemporary art to people who do not have special education and time to go through a huge amount of theoretical texts? My research project attempts to answer this question.

I am interested in diversifying my methods of teaching and enriching students’ learning experiences in the new educational and communicative environment. Information technologies have brought about new modes of interaction. I would like to incorporate into my language teaching technologically enhanced learning and make use of social media tools such as social networking and blogging. Thus, students will be exposed to multiple input sources which they are likely to come across in everyday life situations and which appeal to a variety of cognitive styles. I am also planning to address the issues of goal-setting and problem-solving in more detail, as learners need to be taught to plan their work and direct their own research as well as analyze and interpret the material studied in the unit by considering various points of view on the same issue and looking at the question from different angles. It will make learning a more meaningful and motivating process. Education in the humanities in our contemporary globalized world should be aimed at teaching students to build cross-disciplinary connections and communicate their ideas effectively to the public.

New communication technologies transform our life. Work, studies, leisure, Friendship are mediated by e-devices and require not only the technical infrastructure, but also specific human skills.
It is a big question: do we use new technologies or adopt to it? For example, Manuel DeLanda in his research «War in the Age of Intelligent Machines» proves that Machines use people to develop themselves.
This question is very important for me as a teacher. Am I only a user who searches information, who chooses methods to prevent the plagiarism in students’ works? Or am I an architect who creates new learning conditions, where students are involved in a scientific process, where they generate their knowledge?
Indeed, modern social studies are not simple, have the specific scientific language and methods, the study of which takes a lot of time and energy. Also, not all students want to be scientists. Nevertheless, I think the main research skills are very important in human life. Being able to formulate a problem and tasks, to rise questions, to plan works, to analyze data, to explain an opinion means to be successful in large area of social relations.

My project is «RU Public History». It will be a Popular science portal. I want to do the portal with news Aggregator, historical blogs and community of researchers and his readers. Now «RU Public History» is а site and a public on Facebook.
We have two big problems in history. One is pseudo-scientists and charlatans, who decried the profession of scientists. Second is the Russian historical researchers having no authority in modern Russia. I think, this situation must change.

My project is a complex of creative tasks, based on the courses of Ancient Greek and Roman literatures and the literature of Romanticism. The purpose of the project is to help students to develop their creative abilities, their freedom of thought and expression and also to show them the beauty and wisdom of the classical literature. During this course students begin to understand: classical literature isn’t as “ancient” as they used to think. It has so much in common with the reality they are living in now.
These creative tasks give the student the opportunity to reduce the distance between the subject they study and their personal experience. For example, they are asked to:
— write 10 «tweets» which Shelley and Keats would write, how could the Instagram of Blake look like
By studying the subject the students also develop their professional skills:
— make the report from beneath the walls of Troy, interviews Orestes and Electra, what could be Petronius’s review of the Fellini’s «Satiricon»
Students publish their works using online blog and the teacher uses the Google table to publish the results. This way the educational process is as open as possible.

The general framework of my present research is to explore how human existence essentially corresponds to the cultural phenomenon of  literature, mostly fiction. H.-G. Gadamer and W. Iser, associated with philosophical hermeneutics and receptive/reader-response aesthetics, both work on this problem about the same time and in the same academic environment. A shared point of their research is that the model of reading literature is taken to be constitutive of subjective experience. Fiction allows not only to participate in several spheres of meaning, but also it supposes the possibility to model reality by transforming the experience of it.

The general purpose of the research is to examine the reason why these thinkers find necessary to figure out fiction as a constitutive option for human identity, investigating this problem in a different manner. It is not only a matter of theoretical significance, but also a question about the relevance of context-dependent theories in from a social, cultural and scientific perspective.

Public shows, based on the use of various optical devices (above all, variations of magic lantern and derivatives of R. Barker’s panorama) were an essential part of the visual culture of the 19th-century European cities, not excluding Russian capitals. However, while the history of optical spectacles in Europe and America has attracted a great number of scientists in the last few decades, the history of Russian practice remains practically unexplored. This study is an attempt to fill this gap. It will help in forming a clear idea of the optical spectacles in Russia of the mentioned period and will contribute to the history of the Russian 19th-century popular culture.
The purpose of this research is to restore the history of optical spectacles in Russian capitals in the 19th century’s first half. This proposed research addresses the following research questions:
What specific types of optical shows were organized in Russian capitals during the first half of the 19th century? What was the operation principle? What were the subjects?
Who were the audiences of this public entertainment?
How popular were the optical shows among the public?
How were these spectacles influenced by the elite culture and how did they affect the later?

The start of my research project was made 4 years ago with analyzing Judith Butler’s performative theory of gender. After that I began to explore issues and problematic aspects concerning philosophical anthropology and gender studies. As a result, I have been working on a topic that is a correlation between physical (material) and discursive bounds of subjectivity. The aim of my research work I started with was the simultaneous conceptualization of the Subject as the result of the discursive framing, on the one hand, and one that has its physical framing, on the other. To get it I went to the detailed comparative study of the phenomenological and poststructuralist approaches to the problem of subjectivity and also to the its possible synthesis.
Apart from the theoretical part of my project I was elaborating the practical one. In order to make it more effective and implement in practise I started exploring the documentary photography as a form of visual representations. To get through this topic more deeply I made a decision to investigate the transgender sphere. My first step was interviewing LGBT-individuals. One of the primary goals was seeking for reasons of an intention to name these people in the way of humiliation. I wanted to break through this negative tittle concept and investigate much more significant level of the transgender phenomenon. One of the practical part forms was visiting gay clubs to get some pictures and words from the heroes of my project.

The theoretical basis of the study were the latest concept of the study of science and technology Science, technology and society (STS) in the focus of the impact of technology on the openness of society and of the application of deliberative democracy to engage to participate in decision-making at the city level.

My project «Alive history of Arkaim» aims to create a number of educational articles and monograph for covering the historical and archaeological studies on the fortified settlement Arkaim, as well as public relationship and brand creation.
The fact is the innovative introduction of scientific historical knowledge, the creation of a tourist center «Arkaim» and the monetization of the tourist flow at the level about one hundred thousand people per season. In fact, the piece of steppe land with ancient monument of the Bronze Age enclosed now and makes a profit. Arkaim — the phenomenon, and a great experience of communication of science and life in modern society.

The post-modern nature of the social media transforms the journey into an element of material culture. The emergence of Travel 2.0 completely changed travel industry in a way impossible only in the 21st century. The amount of the travel-related content on the Internet is enormous. That type of content is commonly called Tavel 2.0 (from “Travel” and “Web 2.0”). Tavel 2.0 are various travel-related and user-generated forms of messages, reviews, comments, posts, etc. It can be considered as the most trustworthy and reliable source of information on the Internet now because the receiver usually is familiar with the sender. Travel 2.0 not only reflects personal interests and hobbies of the bloggers but also is having an increasing impact on the formation of the public opinions on tourist services and practices. The travel story itself is reduced to consumption of the «other» by the author. For the full production of traveler materials, the one has needed skills acquired over the years of study on journalism, philology, or humanities faculties, the long-standing practice in the media, attention and care of the professional journalists.
The number of travel schools is increasing each year, but travel journalism theory in Russia is only in its infancy, so the teachers of travel schools distort the terminological confusion and substitution of concepts, which leads to a profanation of journalism education, mythologizing the media space, as well as the degradation of the academic theory of journalism in general.

Главная цель моего участия в XIX Фулбрайтовской международной гуманитарной летней школе – подготовка учебного курса «Политическая нарратология» для магистрантов образовательной программы «Политическая лингвистика» НИУ ВШЭ в Нижнем Новгороде.

Учебный курс «Политическая нарратология» предполагает представление правил, способов, принципов политического повествования в форме вербальных и визуальных текстов online и offline коммуникации, сконструированных планомерно (политическими элитами при помощи специальных технологий), а также спонтанно, без контроля и регулирования со стороны политических элит.

Synthesis of humanitarian and technical perception of modern varieties of communication is necessary for th development of humanties. There should be people, concurrently humanitarian and technical, with flexible and adaptive thinking. The old type «I’m-only-humanitarian-not-technical-geek» has to be replaced by the type «I’m-humanitarian-therefore-opened-adaptive-interested-in-technical-trends». And still for this purpose it is necessary to organize teams and groups consisting as of technically focused humanitarians and humanistically oriented not-humanitarians. Anyway, the responsibility for the organization and effective communication in such groups will sure be laid on the humanitarians.

The user content both of the museum visitors and all those, who are interested in the museum development and transformation, can be used as any other aspects of citizen science. This is an example of how the audience of museum can become a member of the research.
In 2015, the State Memorial Museum of Leningrad Defense and Siege initiated a public discussion of the concept of the museum development until 2020. It involves the active public participation in the modernization of the museum in order to provide a personalized history. The new exposition will focus on the personal tragedy of every resident of the besieged city and explore the impact of war on the individual and society.
The project involves conducting the crowdsourcing campaign to generate ideas and solutions for the future center, using the power of «collective intelligence.» Within 6 months on a specially designed platform, everyone will be able to post not only their own proposals but also any visual or audio content, which then may be used for exhibition and research projects of the museum.

I published a monograph “Belle Époque of Cinematography. 1896 – 1919. Represented by the Russian Province”. The monograph considers cinematography as a translator of the modern values in the life of a Russian city represented by municipal Perm at the turn of the XIX – XXth centuries. The documents of the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, Cinema Museum, National Cinema Room in the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, Perm Lore Museum, State Archive of Perm Krai were used in this book. These are the testimonies of contemporaries, photos and museum showpieces, which prove that the modern values, with cinematography as a translator, were blossoming in the provincial culture. Cinema together with photos, gramophone recordings, newspapers was an attribute of modern art, served as a means of its “technical reproducibility”. Mass culture of Russia communicated the perception of the world as united for the whole western world, thus showing the integrity of the processes in modern societies development. The cinemas showed visual, local plots, the Pate and Gammon chronicles shot by the photographers and electrotheaters’ owners. This was both a wonder (bear hunting with a background actor in a bear skin on him) and an actual plot, for example, “Perm merchant’s wife moving to a summer house”, “Festival of sokolskii gymnastics in Perm”, etc. Visual cinematograph was represented by a visual newspaper, showed political and cultural chronicles, modern cities, aviation achievements. Comic pictures demonstrated fashion and Belle Époque lifestyle on the screen.

The title of my thesis is “Fiction by Rock-Musicians in the Context of British and American Literatures (J. Lennon, N. Cave, M. Gira)”. The main objectives of the paper are to analyze the literary works by rock-musician in the intermedia aspect and to define their place and significance in the context of British and American literatures and cultures. The main question of the paper is whether these literary works have any specific characteristics and features due to the fact that they were written by musicians (especially rock-musicians) but not professional writers. To put it briefly, the paper raises a question, whether there exists such a phenomenon as a rock-fiction? Or these works have not in the slightest degree been influenced by rock-culture and being a part of contemporary cultural process can be studied on academic level and be included in the university studies as an integral part of teaching and learning Contemporary Literature.
Regarding the topic of the Summer School 2016, I would like to mention the following. It is quite obvious that the modern creative process has always been of a prime concern for the scholars. Nick Cave and Michael Gira are still very important and influential figures in modern culture, as well as John Lennon despite his sudden death in 1980. This fact inevitably encourages me as a researcher to analyze not only the academic works, but a great deal of culture and music criticism, public opinion and feedback. This dialog between conservative academic knowledge and contemporary developing culture seems to be the essential and important part of my research. Also rock-culture as a phenomenon of modern culture has always been a subject of interest for the researches of different fields. Rock-culture both as a changing and constantly developing phenomenon and as a great influential part of contemporary world culture is always in a strong need of academic study and methodological approach.

The study of virtual social networks (VSN) in the practice of social research starts from the moment of their appearance, and the wider was disseminated among Internet users, the number of scientists have tried to describe their impact on demand, communication, community, youth, protest behavior, training activities, etc.
In the diversity of studies are difficult to find work, describing the norms, values, rules and model of behavior in the VSN, typology of users.
Neglected by the new phenomena that emerged in connection with the active involvement of Internet users in the VSN — selfie, friends list, «friendship» in social networks, «holiday-spam» etc.
All these phenomena can be considered as markers of developing in the last few years the culture of virtual social networks, which consists of rules (formal and informal), values, models and strategies of behavior, rituals, (institutionalized, formalized and individualistic), users (or rather different types) and communities, specific types of communications, social space, which is formed and focused culture, language (memes, «social-networks-folklore»), etc.
